AI Experts Partner with FLock Foundation to Advance Decentralized Learning

The FLock Foundation, a Swiss-based not-for-profit organization at the forefront of decentralized machine learning, has announced the partnership with two influential figures in AI and high-performance computing: Professor Zhang Zhao and Professor You Yang. Together, Professors Zhang and You will work to advance scalable decentralized learning for Large Language Models (LLMs) in alignment with FLock’s mission to democratize AI and champion ethical innovation.

Professor Zhang Zhao, an assistant professor at Rutgers University and a recognized authority in large-scale machine learning, brings expertise in bridging theoretical research with real-world applications. His notable achievements include the development of OpenFold, the first trainable and efficient protein structure prediction model, which bridges theoretical AI research with real-world applications. He will join FLock Foundation’s Advisory Board.

Professor You Yang, a Presidential Young Professor at the National University of Singapore and founder of HPC-AI Tech, joins the Foundation as a business partner. Known for record-breaking advancements in ImageNet and BERT training speeds – adopted by industry leaders such as Google and Microsoft – Professor You’s LARS and LAMB optimizers have become industry standards for large-scale AI systems.

“As we work to redefine the future of AI through decentralized learning, the addition of Professor Zhang Zhao and Professor You Yang to the FLock Foundation represents a monumental step forward,” said Dr. Zehua Cheng, Head of AI Research, FLock.io. “Their unparalleled achievements and innovative approaches align perfectly with our mission to build ethical, inclusive, and secure AI systems.
