Coinbase has announced the addition of two new cryptocurrencies, Gigachad (GIGA) and Turbo (TURBO), to its coin listing roadmap.
Both tokens have gained significant attention in the cryptocurrency space as meme-inspired projects with unique origins.
Gigachad (GIGA)
Gigachad (GIGA) is a meme-based cryptocurrency launched on the Solana blockchain. It is inspired by the “Gigachad” meme, featuring images of Russian bodybuilder Ernest Khalimov, known for symbolizing an idealized representation of masculinity.
As of December 4, 2024, GIGA is trading at approximately $0.0437, with a market capitalization of about $419 million.
Turbo ( $TURBO )
Turbo (TURBO) is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum blockchain. Created in April 2023 by digital artist Rhett Dashwood, also known as Rhett Mankind, Turbo was developed as an experiment using OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The project was designed with transparency and community involvement, with decisions such as the coin’s name and mascot influenced by public input.
As of December 4, 2024, Turbo is trading at approximately $0.008941, with a market capitalization of around $616 million.
