Voting Snapshot For the NEIRO IP Proposal in the OWNTHEDOGE DAO is Released Today

Today, January 20, there will be a snapshot to vote for the Neiro IP proposal in the Own The Doge DAO. Own the Doge is a community that collectively owns the Doge image and IP via DOG tokens.

One of the options is for the Neiro CTO community to receive the exclusive sublicense of the IP.

S, leading the Neiro CTO community, noted via his X post that users who want to vote in favor of the Neiro CTO community have to buy and hold DOG tokens in their wallet at the time of the snapshot. The more DOG they hold, the more voting power users have.

Own the Doge’s DAO Proposal

On January 15, Own the Doge announced via X that the most active DAO discussion regarding the Neiro IP has been summarized in a DAO proposal.

There are two offers received from the Neiro communities: NEIRO and NEIROWOOF.

The NEIRO IP proposal begins by revealing that, last year, Atsuko added a new member to her family Neiro. Immediately, a lot of tokens were created to monetize Neiro’s story and image.

Own the Doge’s DAO states that it has a strong relationship with Atsuko and its goal was always to give her the recognition and benefits that she deserves from the cultural phenomena that she had created, and this involves preventing bad actors from taking advantage of her.

Neiro is a Shiba Inu dog adopted by Atsuko Sato, after the passing of Kabosu, the original Doge image.

For Own the Doge to accomplish its plans, it aims to use the Neiro IP, owned by the team’s DAO, to give Atsuko the rightful control of her brand and any accompanying revenue streams.

The team also noted that litigation can be framed as anti-decentralization and result in mob harassment, and to avoid problems, they plan to come to a deal with the existing Neiro communities.

Own the Doge presents four options to move forward, noting that each of them has been summarized and the exact agreements will be finalized by the team after the vote concludes.

All points have been reportedly considered and curated via conversations between the council and the teams at the different Neiros.

The team also highlighted that if a Neiro token is not listed in the proposal, this means that they have failed to reach an agreement with the Own the Doge team and, as a result, they do not want to support Atsuko.

The winner of the vote will get a full exclusive license to the Neiro IP until February 1st, 2027. After that date, the license will be renegotiated.

Also, the winner will also receive acknowledgment of the deal from Atsuko, pending her agreement.

The snapshot of the vote will take place today, January 20, when the vote goes live. According to the official notes, the Solana DOG is not compatible with snapshot voting.

This Neiro token was launched on Solana and the coin’s market cap was around $2.3 million at the time of the DAO announcement.

7% supply of their token (funded by community donations)

2. NeiroCTO

The coin’s market cap was over $346 million, at the moment of the DAO announcement. NeiroCTO is launched on Ethereum.

Own the Doge noted that this token is well-established in the crypto space and it offers the following:

To immediately purchase and lock 1% of the supply of DOG for the duration of this agreement
To purchase and lock an additional 1% before December 31, 2025, and another 1% before June 30, 2026
20% of all commercial revenue (from merch, NFTs, and more) to be sent 50/50 to OTD and Atsuko
$50,000 to go to OTD for a doge day sponsorship and license to use Kabosu in advertising and content
